Postponement of the 42nd Festival Mondial du Cirque de Demain
Dear all,
On January 4, 2022, an Extraordinary General Assembly was held under the chairmanship of Alain M. Pacherie to assess the conditions for the realization of the 42nd Festival Mondial du Cirque de Demain considering the evolution of the health restrictions in force since January 3. and supposed to become even harder from the 15th.
We studied at length all the parameters at our disposal and we came to the difficult conclusion that it was necessary to postpone the holding of our event for the second consecutive year.
The international dimension of our public and the one even more extensive of our competing artists makes it impossible to require a very probable complete vaccination pass (three doses) as imposed by the French health authorities due to the extreme disparity of the standards in force in the various states concerned.
It is unthinkable for us to make a Festival "halfway", with a selection of numbers which could be cut at the last minute and in fact impossible to replace, without the presence of our usual audience, necessarily prevented, and in the absence of any conviviality. since it will then be forbidden to consume food or drinks in our different spaces. To sum up the Festival to a simple spectacle is unbearable to us and above all seems to us to be a shame regarding our long history of exchanges, meetings and sharing.
For all these reasons, it is death at heart that we must resolve to postpone this edition, but we want to believe that the 42nd Festival Mondial du Cirque de Demain will be held well from January 26 to 29, 2023, stronger and even more beautiful.
We are expecting more of you than ever in Paris!
